HI!
I have a question to ask.
Is it possible to ``hotwire´´ a BMW E60/61 Sportseat (electric) directly to a 12V battery?
I need to know because for my schoolproject.
The project cosists of rebuilding the seat to a armchair^^ (with the electric functions)
I got some pictures of it.

The motors have simple 12 volt supplies so those can be turned on and off via simple power switching if you tap into those. Using the switches on the side of the seat isn't going to work as you might expect. Thet don't switch "power" they send computer network signals to the seat module and the module turns motors on and off and is expecting to get readings from hall-effect sensors, temp sensors, etc to know where the motors are and that they are not over-heating.

You can connect to the battery , but you won't get the seats electrical functions to work ! , this need K_Bus ( comes from SZM modul in pre-LCI models ) and also ( for seat heating ) the K_Can_Bus signals HIGH & LOW ( CAS modul )
Proberly if you integrate the SZM modul ( get that wirede up also ) you could get the seats motor functions to work over the seat bottons.

and... the CANbus wiring should be terminated with 120ohm resistors so that you get a 60ohm reading on the bus.
Remember... you are not hooking up a "seat".... you are trying to get computer modules to communicate with each other.
