Default Your opinion on a 2008 550I

This weekend I saw a 2008 550i with 76K miles.

What do you think of the model?
Any issues I should be aware of?
Any transmission problem?

The front bumper appeared to be off a bit by the carfax does not show any reported incident.

Depends on the price too and make sure you get the packages/options you really want. I got lucky finding mine to be almost perfect. The two options I didnt get but would have loved : Active Cruise Control and Sports Steering wheel. Other than that, I did not want the ARS as I've not heard good reliability reviews and since I plan on driving it year round I preferred it a bit higher off the ground than the sport/m package.

Color Combo, options and then ofcourse price.

Reliability wise the non-turbo'ed BMWs seem to have pretty good reliability. ANd the 4.8L engine is bulletproof as long as you maintain it well.

KLR4LIFE, your car description says Carbon Schwartz Metallic. Does it look mostly black with a hint of blue? This would be exactly the same color then as the one I saw.

IMHO should be in the $25k range or less. Otherwise you should negotiate them down to that range. Sounds like its got plenty of gadgets. If you like the color combo, have a carfax/history report, one last thing to do might be a PPI from a local dealer to put your mind to ease.

with 19" rims one of two things, either someone added them later or you have the "M" package on that car

Yes my car is black but looks dark blue in the sunlight. With the packages you have listed seems like the car is loaded. I think 26k would be a fair price as long as everything checks out, get the cars history and check the carfax. Take the car for a drive and make sure the tranny is not shifting hard or jerking.

Proud new owner of a 2008 550i Carbon Black Metallic. I also have a 2004 530 and the drive is absolutely different, must tighter. Feels like a great car so far.
