to young for a e60??
I've got one question for all you youngin's out there - where do you get the money from?
I spose 5ers only cost about half over there as to what they do here ($57,000AUD for 525i in US, $100,000 in AU) Thats the price for a base model 3 Series here. Sounds a little more acheivable to me
BTW, you ain't too young to own a 5er, you're friends are just jealous

I was 25 when I got my 1st (of 2) E46's in 1999, 27 when I got my E39, 29 when I got a 1 Series, and 30 when I got my E60.
Prior to my BMW obsession my only other car during my university years was a Golf II 1.8l

When I was 16, I had a year old, hand me down e34 525i. While the car was nice and all, I remember yearning for a regular 3 series, a m3 or a supra. They were all relatively the same price, but the other cars seemed so much more fun at the time.
In retrospect, a heavy car with a small engine was probably a good thing for me.

Average pay is AU$50k, which is about US$36k. When your straight out of college you usually get paid about $40k, which is about US$30k.

Hummm
sounds average... to me at least... you might be looking at those lucky ones that get help from parents and or those lucky ones that make A LOT!!!!! ie. stocks, internet, start up company... etc.Either that or those that just spend every penny they have on the car and not worry about the future!

....plus tax!
IMO you are never too young to drive an E60. Here in So Cal I see a lot of young guys/gals driving E60s, though I have not seen too many driving a 7 series. I'm guessing that a lot of them are starting to get bored of the Japanese import scene and moving over to the hot European craze now

I am 25 and just bought a 04 545. I stepped up from a 2001 Acura Cl Type S. Ferdie is right, I see in LA that there is a younger crowd turning into Euro fanatics. Bimmers are great cars!

Who says the E60 is only for the older generation? I fall in love with it the first time i saw the car in the magazine. I got mine when i was 18 (okay.. i admit my dad bought it for me) and still never regret my decision.
Go for it.. just don't listen to what people think..
