I've found myself driving somewhat harder lately, putting it into sport mode much more often and even manually shifting half the time. How does everyone else drive their autos? Does anyone else feel like this is bad for their car? Or am I just paranoid? lol

its horrible for your car! you could blow your engine!
its fine, just make sure you're lettin your car warm up first

It's nice to be able to shift up early in manual mode when the car is warming up and it would prefer to delay the upshifts.

I am in DS most of the time. I manually shift when I am in a passing situation. Other than that, I am usually in DS. I only really beat the crap out of the tranny at meets when my engine will be at high revs for hours. For everyday driving with the family, I usually dial back the revs quite a bit and drive more for smoothness than performance.
The one difference that I see when I beat the crap of out it is that its already thirsty oil consumption gets thirstier.

I drive in Manual mode 95% of the time. But like others have warned, make sure its warmed up. Shifting manually with cold tranny oil is a nono in my opinion, plus its very harsh.
BMW steptronic's shifting is amazing when considering its an automatic gearbox.

I have the SAT since Dec 09 and I LOVE IT!
50% Automatic mode
50% Sport Mode
Sometimes when I drive faster(Autobahn e.g) I use to shift manually, just before overtaking someone, the tranny needs more time to recognize that's time to floor, so I help her a little out and give her the next lower gear.

I drive it hard as heck in manual mode about 95% of the time. At 100050 miles I do hear little noisses that were not there for the first 80-90k miles. But I cannot stop.
When driving in track like conditions I will manually hold a gear so that it may bounce off the rev limiter now and then. Just keeps on truckin'
