What a great thread. I guess it can be considered a reality check for me and hopefully other members. I do think I am blessed compared to others my age who cant even drive(due to sickness) let alone drive a bad car.

I totally know where you are coming from, which is percisely the reason I have the e60 now. I finished school got a job and bought a e46 as my first car and drove it for a while and then had to upgrade to the e60 and now once in a while I catch myself thinking "I should have bought the 545i or 550i", "Man I wonder what payments would be like on the x6..."

But little mods here and there are keeping me content with what I have... for now.
Saw in your wish list you have quite a few CF mods planned, would you leave them unpainted, see the topic i just started, i have a titanium grey E60 that i have started modding with CF parts and am curious as to how the spoilers and lips will look like.

Regards

Then I also realized that I am one of those people who is constantly thinking about what I don't have, what I want to achieve, and not what I "do" have and what I "did" achieve. Its easy to get lost in the bullshit sometimes, isn't it?

There is my Confucius for the day.

I love my baby. I need some side skirts dammit!
You're absolutely right! Thanks for the tip of the day. I keep over seeing what I have and concentrate on what I dont have too... That's not cool... I need to spend more time reflecting I think...

Yes, you need some damn side skirts!!

My father once told me to get a hooker since you pay at once. But a wife, you pay for the rest of your life. How's that for Confucius?

Yeah, i have this too. A couple of years ago i thought, i wish i owned a house and some luxurious new car instead of living with my mom and driving a crappy '90 VW Passat.
Now i have a house, 2 great cars and i still catch myself thinking: Damn, i want that Aston Martin V8 Vantage, that AC Cobra replica, a bigger house, etc...

But then i take a step back and think: i'm 24, look at what i've done in just a couple of years, i should be proud of myself and not always want more and more.
I do however think that it's GOOD to dream, because it's exactly that dreaming that gets you further in life. When you've reached a goal, always take that goal one step further or set another, bigger goal.
It keeps me on my toes and when i think about it, it gives me something to look out for.

I never should have come on this site. When I bought my 525(that's right even more humble than the 530) I was pretty sure it was the sweetest ride around. A few days on here and I had to remind myself that, for me, there are better things to spend your money on than trying to have the nicest car around - since there will almost always be someone there to one up you.

However, thanks to this forum, I realized that some shadowline trim and 166's w/ M6 offset can go a long way towards reminding me just how nice of a car the E60 really is.
