Your e60 fog lamps use bulb 9006 sometimes named HB4 ... you could probably find them in amber if you wanted to go that route - most look for a whiter color to match the Xenons. 9006 bulbs are VERY common and can be found in most auto parts stores (PepBoys, AutoZone, etc)

are fog lamps on pre-lci cars 9006? i just replaced mine (lci) and they are H8 bulbs. either way I looked at autozone, o'rileys, etc. and none of them sold yellow bulbs. I ended up getting gp thunder 3500k yellow bulbs. they look great and aren't too expensive.

Yes, my pre-LCI '07 530xi (production date 8/2006) uses the 9006/HB4 bulb for the fog lamp. LCI production cars use the H8 bulb? Yes, in my experience, on-Line is the most likely place to find amber bulbs for "primary" lamps. But, turn signals and similar bulbs are more often available in amber in the usual retail stores. It's only a matter of time before those are replaced by LEDs and the replacement bulb business will disappear in time.
I agree. I think the OP is talking about Yellow bulbs though, not amber.
