My Ride: Alpine White/Biege 545i, CWP, Nav, Active Steering, Auto Step ordered 2/1/05
It finally happened an hour ago.....
After much deliberation between heart and mind, took the proverbial leap of faith and ordered my first BMW. Had limited my choices to 530i and 545i and BMW made my decision simple by announcing the '06 530i production in March/April. Test drove the 545i last week and what's there not to like?
So, this afternoon, I ordered my Alpine White with Biege 545i. Took the following options:
- Auto Steptronic
- CWP
- Navigation
- Active Steering
Have already entered the Owner's Circle to track but the order has not been updated yet. Still shows the original car assigned to this production number. 'Guess the next execution of some batch job will reflect my order.
The car is scheduled for the week 7 build (2005/02/07 in BMW terminology) which would put the delivery for somewhere around the week of 3/20.
Had a good, cordial and pressure free sales experience at the dealership...hope the post-sales is as good.
And now the agonizing wait :'(
BTW, as indicated in several posts here, the 550i comes out in Sept as MY06. The dealer expects the prices to go north with the bigger engine, euro appreciation etc.

My Ride: #1: 2004 545i; 6-speed manual; Sport Package; Mystic Blue with a gray leather interior and Anthracite wood; CWP; Logic 7.
#2: 2010 535xi Touring; Automatic.
Welcome. You'll love it. Don't rely on the bmw site for order tracking. It's pretty late, like a week or two. Get your sales rep's e-mail and bug him/her to check it on their system every now and then.

Congratulation!
Absolutely true - the BMW tracking site is very slow - your sales rep will have info which is much more up-to-date.
