I have a 2006 530xi with factory installed Ipod connection. I also have an Ipod 3GS with XM Satellite Radio over the internet. I'm wondering if anyone knows if and how I can use the existing factory installed Ipod connection and BMW software to stream my XM over it? When I play the XM on the Ipod and connect it to the car, the audio from the Ipod speaker turns off, as if it is now streaming it to the car connection. Is there ANYWAY to "connect" the two applications so I don't have to get a BMW installed XM option for $1,500?!

I am not sure 100% but I doubt you can play XM from your Iphone via the car speakers. May be there are after market mods available?

The existing iPod connection doesn't work that way. If you want to use any apps on iPhone to play music, then you need to replace the iPod adaptor with the Dension 500. Here is the link to another thread. https://5series.net/forums/topic/715...1&#entry801911
