I have a 2004 545 with the xenons. Does anybody here have their left headlight more purple and just a tad bit dimmer than the right headlight. I Have 49k miles on the car. If its a bad bulb, this should be covered under warranty right? Thanks in advance.

This happens when one bulb gets changed.

Xenon bulbs change their color a bit over time, so one is newer than the other.
Therefore, nothing wrong and no warranty...

Yes, but the correct procedure is the bulb pair replace. I got this problem befor with the 545 and the dealer changed in warranty.

Maybe someone punched your ride and gave it a double black eye!

My last car's xenon light (a saab) went purple, then pink, then stopped working!! Luckily it was still under warranty. The colour change maybe a sign of imminent faiiure of the bulb.

The replacement bulb was ?130!!

According to BMW the "correct" procedure is replacing the broken one, not both.
Changing both is common sense though...
