Hi, i have a 2004 525i and i did not get the xenon package but now i want xenon bulbs. I was on ebay and i came across an auction which had xenons for 2004 E60. His site is www.bmwxenon.com
I have 2 questions:
1. Do you guys recommened these bulbs?
2. Can i put them in my E60 even though i did not get the xenon package?

That's Jimmy. It's well known on most automotive forums that his bulbs stink. Stay away. You can buy the xenon headlights from BMW but I believe they're around $2000 for both.

Out of curiosity, how dim are the regular lights? I've never seen them in use before. I know you want to upgrade, so is it that bad? If we have to get a different 530, we were thinking of deleting xenons and getting comfort seats instead.

I should change business, reimporting Xenon bulbs from Germany to the US.
In Germany you can purchase for $10 each Xenon bulb.
Are you aware that the Xenon package icludes a 25.000 Voltage (not knowing exactly) transformer each side generating a high ignition voltage level the (special) bulbs are fired with ???
Therefore you will find in any Xenon equipped BMW motor compartment a danger sign of high voltage warning ...
Differences between Xenon bulbs and xenon package in detail e.g. pls. find here (easy reading)
http://www.autolamps-online.com/gasdischarge/xenon.htm
In the Internet you will find numerous articles explaining the "real" xenon technology.

Don't do it.
Read in the last issue of BMW mag that you can't add xenon if you never had them. The computer won't read. Guess that's why BMW charges 2K
