Ballast is attached/mounted on the bottom of the headlight housing. To see the ballast, you will have to remove the headlight from the car, flip it upside down, you will see this...

The smaller square thing is the control module for adaptive-headlight controller (ALC). I corrected this.

Close but the smaller box is controller for Adaptive headlight (ALC = Adaptive Light Control) instead of auto-level adjuster

The smaller rectangular looking thing is the control module for auto-level adjuster.

How much is the bulb? I think I am having the same thing. One of my low beams turned pink.

The bulb is around $70, but you have to change both so the life cycle and the color would match between the two!

The "stealership" parts dept. here in Tucson AZ quoted me the price of $249.00!!! And was for just the bulb.!!! I now better understand why many on this forum call them "stealerships."

Then to complicate the things further, half of my online research stats my takes the D2S. The other half states it takes the D1S. The owner's manual states take it to the "stealership" for the fear of "High Voltage Hazard" And the stealership states they are not which one I have; bring it in because they will have to look at it.

The type of xenon (D1S) is printed very clearly on the ballast as well as the igniter. Look at the yellow sticker in the picture I posted - bottom right hand corner.
If you are willing to remove the headlight and familiarize yourself with the car parts, you can save a lot of money; otherwise, take some lotion to the dealer :-) pun intended.

You are absolutely correct. I will take this SOB apart and lay every part on the floor and then put it back together. I refuse to let the stealership stick it to me. And since this town has only one stealership, they probably won't let me use the lotion!!!!

Thanks PCY
