It's been discussed before.

Not only is it illegal, standard foglights perform better because of their dispersion pattern.

"illegal" thats new to me, and, better light dispertion is this an early april fool or what.

I have a friend with xenon in e60 and his lights turn night into day.

an english supplier hids4u.co.uk sells various retro kits which only take a short time to fit.

I'm going to first try a bulb upgrade to a high performance phillips bulb to see if it does the job.

Phillips also do a non eu approved regular voltage bulb called diamond bright which is claimed to give near xenon output (4000k) from a regular voltage bulb so the wont melt your lenses.

I upgraded my previous e39 bulbs (well known for poor lighting levels) and the improvement was very good.

whoops - i think its about time i had an eye test.

i havent even concidered xenon fogs before but it turns out that someone does a "legal" DOT approved (Complies with SAE J582) xenon fog kit but it is an aftermarket generic kit and not retro to to e60.

see here if your curious

As told, this has been discussed before.

BMW have Hi-Beam Xenons as retrofits for the fog lights in their catalogue.

The standard fog lights are useless...
