Did test drive today - on compleately icy roads, in southern Finland - a E90 325xiA.

Did run a couple of hundred miles, with a big smile on my face all the time.

The BMW xDrive is fantastic, great, superiour... simply incredible in a postive way!

I do not remember having such fun in a long time...

Don't be silly, there is no such temperature.

I know this because my freezer thermometer only goes down to -20C

I love my xdrive also. Only had one chance to really try it out this year, but sooner or later we will get a blizzard and I am going to love letting those big 4wd trucks see me.

Lucky You!! Fun at last!

We don't have any snow anymore here in Scotland! But that is good because no xDrive, nor studed tyres.

have you tried audi's quattro ? bmw is lagging behind, only the new generation x-drive found
in the second gen X5 (and soon to find its way in the 3-series) is coming close to audi's effort

I agree... the Audi Quattro (Torsen version, not Haldex) is the truely great to drive in slippery conditions and feels much more capable than x-drive (although I haven't had a chance to drive an E70 yet). However, Audi lose out in some other areas (mostly steering feel and front/rear balance)
