My Ride: 08 550 Carbon Sport Almost everything factory, but no sound upgrades.

Late yesterday I damaged a front tire on my 08 550 sport ? deep, dark pothole!
It is/was a Continental SC2. Only 4100 miles.
I am thinking of going to a full set of Michelin PS2. Or at least a pair for the front.
Is this a good choice?
In July I signed up with ?InTire? for a wheel/tire guarantee with the car purchase. Any good or bad experience with those folks?
Are the 4100 mile SC2s marketable?
Any other thoughts here would be appreciated.
Thanks, sixcard.

MPhil, yes, I did. Hooked on to it when car was purchased. Re-read original post about "InTire".

Can you transfer the tire warranty to the Michelins, or is it only valid for the same brand of tire on the car when you purchased the tire warranty?

Most of these policies are written by dealers or third parties, not BMW, so you have to check your policy to see if it allows for something other than the original brand of tires. I have one from my selling dealer and it covers me regardless of what kind of tire I put on the rim. Are you sure you want to spring for four new tires when you only have one bad one with 4100 miles on it? This is exactly what you bought the insurance for, so I would use it and get one tire replaced. You never know, you may have damaged the rim as well, which should also be covered. That way, you can switch to whatever tire you want after the other three wear out and you will have time to make the decision, vice having to replace one ASAP.

MPhil, that is a very useful thread, thanks.
Anyone comment on running Contis on the rear with PS2 Michelins on the front. I can't imagine any problem with that ... but what do I know??
I drink Beck's Dark Bier with my French fries all the time.

Maybe I can't argue too well for it but it's like Campbells Tomato soup, Heinz Ketchup, Tanqueray and BMW.
Besides, as I read the Forum, Michelin seems to prevail as the choice.
I have no good reason to put down Contis but I was pissed when mine arrived without Michelin. Maybe BMW does not use them as OEMs.
Now, don't any body run some wild assed poll that puts me down!
