I got the flat tire warning about two weeks ago, got out of the car, couldn't tell that the tire was flat.

Added air, seemed to hold, got the flat tire warning again. This time at home I checked the tire and found a bolt (1/8 inch) embedded in the tire.

I had been driving around for two weeks, sometimes at high speed and couldn't tell. I took the car to the tire place and replaced the wheel with a full size extra tire/rim combo I had.

I had heard that if you ran on the run flats too long that the tire insides would be shredded and that the tire would be useless. We got the tire off the rim and lo and behold, the tire was fine except for the puncture which was repaired.

Just thought it was amazing to be able to drive at relatively high speeds for 2 weeks on a flat tire and the tire is still ok.

Is this old tire truly ok. (Bridgestone Potenzas)

BTW itis not just RFT that hold for 2 weeks.
I had the same thing for 2 weeks too but not on RFT, it was on 19" BFgoodrich which I had a nail stuck inside the tyre and it too lite up the flat sign and I put some air in it too and 1 week later it happened again so I had a look and it was 1 of the tyres that had a nail in it. then I got the puncture fix for only $5us. and it was OK after.
So Itis not just RFT that can last as long

If you had been driving for 2 weeks with low pressure in the tyre, Change it!

The internal structure can be badly damaged with no visible signs.

A tyre carcass is a mesh of interwoven strands, once they start to delaminate due to excess heat build up the tyre may look OK but it is scrap and dangerous.

If the tyre damage did not cause deflation whilst you were driving around on it, it should be OK
