My Ride: 1973 porsche 911, 32,000 miles, with all S options and leather sport seats. 2004 porsche GT3,white track car, 2003 porsche boxter "my wife's" 2004 3/4 ton suburban tow vehicle, 24' pace trailer, 2006 BMW530XI, black, auburn, also "my wife's" about to buy a BMW 550I,silver gray,
There seem to be so many complaints on this forum. Maybe I got a good one, but I can't say I've ever enjoyed a sedan more than my 550I. Sure It's got a couple little quirks but the fun and pleasure of driving it certainly out weights all those little things I've experienced. Great car, lots of power, great milage, comfort.

Rarely to people log in and say how great their car/computer/whatever is.
I'm with you, except for a few small things, the E60 is brilliant. My one month review here:

Good point Mullman!
Currently I am in a early 04 (02/04) that has treated me right. She is going on 26k miles and I have had NO issues *FINDS WOOD.* I have been surprised, half expecting at times, I haven't had the same issues as those with early 545's. Well, to be honest, if this car doesn't give me any issues before warranty is up, I'll keep it. This is my first European vehicle and I'm surprised at the secure build quality of it.

People are motivated when things are not going as they expected to hit the online forums and vent.

Good points, fellows. When the board started, the E60 was new technology with new and unique problems. That created problems for owners, dealers, SAs and technichians which led to even more problems because of the learning curve of complex unfamiliar technologies. Most of that is water over the dam, but the effect of some lingers on. Hence, it seems there are a lot of complaints.

Well Jim911,
This is my first Bmer and I have had some of the problems discussed on this forum, but I love the car! Nothing rides, handles or feels like it and as long as the dealer keeps fixing the computer glitches I will keep driving it. I just wish the dealer would always give me a BMW loaner instead of the Accords when I take it in for service. Of course driving something else for a day or two makes me remember why I enjoy this car so much.

I got a great one too. Just one real problem. The only suckie thing is BMW software--i.e., when you have to have an update, and the update breaks things. And, they force you to install the latest--with no way of going backward (except maybe maybe under very rare circumstances).
