It called 6fl/USB option which I think its for 2008 or above. So can DEALERS install this on 2004 ?

Unfortunately not...it can only be retrofitted to LCI/Facelift cars, which have the updated i-drive (programable buttons).

What do you mean by programmable buttons? the ones on the steering wheel?

What's the difference between this and a "regular" ipod adapter?

edit: Oh I see it's connected via normal USB.

No, the LCI cars come with six programmable buttons located over the DVD drive in the center of the dash. You can program to do many things. Mine are set to dial home, dial wife's cellphone, play iPod, play Sirius, navigate home and I forget the sixth!

You've got a 2008, that's an LCI car. You should have them, they are quite convenient to use, especially for dialing home/wife's cell, which I do daily while driving..

That's pretty cool, thanks for the info, too bad I don't have these. Oh, well, guess that is just more motivation to get the M5 when this ones paid Me to wife: "But honey, I NEED those buttons, that's why I NEED the M5"
