I want to be able to look at a destination, or perhaps a route, with Google Maps on my office PC and have the option to download that info to my car's Nav system so that by the time I have walked to my car, its ready to go. How about it, Google?

i like the entire interface redesigned, instead of the current menus, go for something similar to apple's ' front row' or sony playstation. more 3 dimentional graphics rotating and the selected enlarged.

vehicle monitor in graphic form, not just "OK"/ 12000 km to service.
like oil levels . brake pad thickness etc.
yes i like to see the engine oil temperature.

definitely a backup camera, like the infiniti. you have to use it to know. so cool.
the other day in a friend's infiniti M35, freaked out the dude behind me, seeing i didn't turn around while backing the car FAST towards him.

wouldn't it be nice to plug-in a valentineV1 into the idrive?

dailynews/weather/traffic updates from local data channels.

and how about an 'aquarium screen saver'? those who knows this one.

more customisable car settings. Like being able to set the electronically folding mirrors to fold every time you lock the car, like they do on other cars. Or being able to set the headlights to come on everytime you lock/unlock the car and its dark enough to need them. Or being able to set the sensitivity of the light sensor through the idrive.

Hmm what else?

Might be a bit distracting - but it's not a BAD idea

I prefer PDC to camera.

well -- here in california i think it is a BAD idea but maybe not for the reasons you are thinking.

I have seen people reading the newspaper, shaving (electric and non-electric), plucking eyebrows, putting on makeup, reading a magazine, watching television (lcd on the visor), etc.

the last thing i want to see driving in to work in the morning is someone "watching porn"

i thought we had enough accidents here already -- we dont need 1 more reason

I would like to see the Sirius channels managed similar to the AM/FM dial. This would make it much easier to roam thru the channels.

If the radio is on when I turn off my car, it should return to that screen when I restart (mentioned above).

Weather radar map display would be cool.
