My last DD before my 5er was an SUV. I've always loved the room and all-terain function even though they are gas hogs.

There is always one in the garage (my wife has one) so I'll probably keep a sedan for awhile.

I don't think I'd consider exchanging a newer car for an older model SUV though.

I would love to, they are nice especially the X5 with the 5.8 liter V8 monstrosity. My girlfriend wouldn't approve, she hates SUV's with a passion!

Still prefer a car though, much easier to drive, we'll see, if we get a ton of snow this time around in Toronto, I may consider one.

i know my 530 drive better probably but i do like the x5 plus considering the swap deal as i only paid £4000 which is about $6500 and x5 is worth £5200 which is about $8500 so i think i come out better in the deal, don't you think?

i love love love the 2008+ V8 X5 models....they have a nice rumble exhaust note. one day whenever i have a wife...ill get her one and then drive the hell out of it....then eventually replace it with a cayanne turbo lol

but for the 2001....id probably pass, the styling of the newer ones is much improved in my opinion.

yes i know the new x5 is nice but that's out of my reach at the moment, my 530i has 119k miles on the clock and the x5 done 86k miles, it's 3.0 petrol.

I've driven an X5 at the BMW Spartanburgh driving experience and I LOVED it! I love the feel of it and how it sits higher off the ground and they really dont do too bad off road. I will be looking for an X5 Diesel around this time next year after having the baby and my dog being around 85 pounds...

I'm toying with the idea since it's the only way to get a 2012 Diesel in the USA ...

Nope, I wouldn't swap, then again I have a 2012 X5 in the garage already!
