Would you pay more for a MT E60

I am looking to buy an E60 and found an out of state private party MT that I liked but asking price is a few $k more that what a local dealer is asking for same mileage/options but automatic. My question is, does a MT, because of rarity fetch more than an auto? It used to be the other way around, that is auto is a more expensive option than a MT, even in a new vehicle purchase. Thank you for your opinions.

Don't think there are any manual transmission options in the new 5-series.
BMW has gone to $0 manual transmission option where it is offered.
As you point out, in the "old days" the base price was with manual transmission and getting an automatic was an option. BMW has flipped that around now. Automatic is standard and manual, where offered, is a $0 option.
As for my 2006 530xi with 6 speed MT -- just love it.

its the other way around right now
NOBODY wants the manuals, they dont sell well.
thats a decision for you, if u want to drive a manual over auto.
i wouldn't want a manual daily driver and i drove manual cars all my life.

Prices on the E60 fluctuate based on supply and demand. If there are lots of MTs available in a given area, prices will be lower. They're scarce, but not rare, much like the E61. If you can afford to wait, you'll likely find one at a price point that's more to your liking. Good luck!

It is true that manuals are not in high demand. But, if you want one, there aren't many to choose from. That could be a price factor. As for my car, when I ordered it my wife said "what do you what that for?". I told her I wanted the Ultimate Driving Machine

MT Bmw cost more as I see because they are not many. I always prefer MT over auto when it comes to Bmw. There are several reasons for this but mainly Driving auto Bmw is like dating pretty woman and not making love!

I agree that because of the limited stock prices will be a little higher. I can understand that. If two private sellers listing the similar cars except one is MT the other is auto, I would probably pay more for the manual. But I am having a hard time understanding a private seller asking price is higher than a dealer's (considering dealer markups).
