Dear "OP" Did you have a good local service center namely a BMW Service center to go to and help with concerned items? My 2 cents! Trying to help here.
Yes i have a real BMW center, only been in there, BMW Thailand sent me a mail that they is the one there wanted the box changed, nothing why, think they take the easy way out here.

My Ride: 550i 2009 Mod. with tints all around. Got Splitter and Spoiler coming. May do an exhaust.
Hate to say it, but I would get a couple more opnions or just get rid of the stupid error message. Sure there isn't a loose wire? Did anyone ever take the under section apart and not set back in place the connections correctly? Sorry I am trying to be helpful here.

I think Chris Bangle really screwed up the brand with pretty awful designs. And Run Flats are a total dissaster.
So presently BMW have a conbination of poor design and poor ride / handling - both previously iconic BMW trade marks
I can't think how it could be worse for BMW right now - hence their poor sales figures.
The new designs and better ride / handling is seeping through and the 08/09 cars are much better
After 10 years of owning BMW's these past 2 years really tested my brand loyalty.
I only have to drive a rental car to see just how good a beemer is though !
As for pulling out of F1. BMW were definately 'bitch-slapped' by Mercedes. Or should that be a 'pimp slap ?
Whatever, Merc obliterated them and their engineering very publically and they did it with purpose in mind.
Check out a really funny Bangle robot article on the (sniff petrol). web site.

I don't know about the Bangle inspired 3, 7 and z4 models, and how their sales compare to previous generations- but the Bangle inspired 7 (My personal favorite) was the best selling 7 series model in 7 series history.
I really love the Bangle designs. That's what attracted me to BMW in the first place. After spending two years in Germany, where BMW's and Mercedes are as plentiful as Chevrolets and Fords, they were no bi deal to me, when I got back to the States. I mean, once you've ridden in 3, 5, and 7 series, C, E, and S class taxi cabs, all of a sudden, they aren't so special anymore.
But, once Bangle got a hold of them, I starting liking BMW's and considering them "special" again. A lot of other manufacturers must have too because you can see Bangle-esque inspired design on a lot of cars no, to include the Toyota Avalon, Camry, and LS460.
I don't think Bangle deserve the bashing he's taken from the media since 2001 (when the 2002 7 series came out). Instead, he should be praised for injecting a dose of sexiness into what was formerly plain Jane (albeit luxurious) styling.
PS- Is it just me, or was iDrive never really complicated?
PS- I've read on this site that a number of people have beef with teh run flats, but I have not read why..
What's the beef? How could a run flat tire be a problem? Please advise before I mess around and buy a set. I thought run flats were the cat's meow.

The only way I will buy another BMW is if they offer non-RFTs and spare tire on their Xdrive cars. Maybe they should make this an option for those who don't want the "security" of RFTs.
After having runflats on my '06 550i and blowing 9 tires in 2 years, none of which disabled the car, and 4 flats on my '08, 3 of which required towing, I think I prefer the runflats. Is the ride as good?? No but it really does suck waiting for that flatbed or hitting a monster pothole and just waiting to see the TPMS light pop on.
Runflats all the way from now on for me.

I GUESS THE SUCCESS OF THE e60 SPEAKS VOLUMES TO THE INTEGRITY OF THE ABOVE STATEMENT. DUDE IF "YOU" DON'T LIKE DESIGN THEN SAY IT DOESN'T APPEAL TO "YOU", NOT THAT ITS AN AWFUL DESIGN
