I've leaaed 2 Infiniti V8 sport package equopped sedans (Q45 and M45) and two BMW V8 sport package equipped sedmans (540 and 550). The Infinits both had responsive, crisp handling and were fine in the twisties. The problem was that unlike BMW, the Infinitis achieved their handling performance at the expense of all ride comfort. The suspensions had zero compliance and simply fell apart over sharp bumps, sending shudders throughout the cars. To me, Infiniti is a credible performance alternative to BMW but still not nearly as refined as a BMW sport suspension.

Yes, a 4.5 liter, 325 bhp V8. The M35 has the V6.

See? Even people who's cars where in shops for upwards of 1 month still choose BMW
I had 13.5k in repair work done on my 545i. But still I'd buy another!

Although i had a lot of problems with my car, i would definitely buy another BMW.
Although i want to go for that M5 next year, the first car i want to buy to keep next to my 530d is a Lotus Exige S2.
This one to be exact:

It's an import, so the steering wheel is on the wrong side, but i don't really care, i've driven RHD cars a lot (my business partner has an Elise S with RHD) and you're used to it after a couple of days.
The only cars i'll ever buy are: BMW, Alfa (159GTA or (let's hope
an 8C), Lotus or an Aston Martin.
I'm not really into hypercars like Ferrari's and Lambo's. They're nice and quite pretty, but the price is ridiculous and the maintainance is insane.
I'd just have the Bimmer for normal home->work drives and the Lotus for weekend fun drives.
