Sadly, probably not =\
Beautiful car, but in the long run, it's quite a bit of a pain to keep going smooth.
The new F30 3 series look badass, but we'll have to wait to see how they go. 1st gen cars scare me as much as 1st gen Apple products. They're new, shiny, beautiful, no one has done anything like it before... but they're buggy as hell.
So maybe an LCI 1-series. A part of me has a thing for small cars.
I really wish they'd ship over Diesel cars over to the states. I know Volkswagen has several, but I've heard way too many nightmare repair stories with VW's. E60 is testing my patience as it is. Gas mileage on Diesels is really something to be reckoned with. Normally I'd take power over MPG, but when it goes to that extreme, that MPG is really really tempting.
Or maybe I'll end up with a Prius.

I will buy another E60 however I will make sure I get an LCI 535 or 550, perhaps even a 528 with the following options...
1-6 speed manual is a must
2-Nav
3-HUD
4-Blue-tooth
5-Satellite
6-Adaptive Cruise Control
7-Mtech kit
8-Night vision
9-And all the standard stuff e60's come with.
The car has to be inspected inch by inch for any issues with engine, passenger mat sensor, HPFP and everything that could go wrong with it.
Oh the most important thing is I will never buy an e60 without warranty.

Yes, great car. Got 175,000 miles on my '05 545. I have had a few issues, but that's expected with this milage.Car still handles and rides like new, tremendous power and the active steering (it's the greatest) tops it all off. I would like to buy a new 535i but the way I would appoint it would make the cost over $65,000. When I figure it out with my current car still running so well, I think I am way ahead of the game even if I spend $1,000/2,000 or so every year on repairs rather than make a car payment of $1,000 per month for a new 535i.
It worked out well with my '97 528i that I got 313,000 miles out of it before selling it for $5,000.
Love these BMW's. Service them well and they will run forever.

Love driving the car... just don't love owning it. Regrettably, I think the answer is no. More issues than any other car I've owned at 45k miles and the car is completely stock except M5 wheels. Several of the other vehicles I own, have moderate/heavy modifications and have been more reliable. And now the E60 is out of warranty, I feel a bit uneasy to keep it. Currently considering all extended warranty options. But at this stage in my life, I need reliability and hassle-free.

No way in hell... I love driving it when it acts right. Have had WAY too many issues. Mostly I've been able to fix everything myself but I'm currently battling an electrical gremlin and would trade the damn thing in if my wife would let me. Unfortunately we have a baby on the way and she's in line for the next relpacement vehicle... From now on it's Lexus or Infiniti for me.
