I still get in my 535xi, three years later, hit the accelerator and think: silk.

you are experiencing the same Valve Body/Mechatronics failure that many other V8 E60s (including mine) have had. that sputter/stutter/uncertainty of which gear the car should be in at approximately 35MPH is a widespread problem. its 99.9% the reason why i would have never bought my E60 had i known that it was prone to transmission failures. im super pissed about it.

my car is a dream whenever its not a total f*cking nightmare.

I am not overall happy with the transmission in this car . Sport mode is strong but searches for shift point . Leaving it in standard drive is the same way, any hill doing a speed less than 35mph make this transmission unsure of it's gear.
I'm not selling mine anytime soon but after owning 5 BMWs since 1984.

Regretfully, no, I will not buy another E60. I will buy an E93 just to get it out of my system and then I'm done with BMW and move on to a manufacturer that's willing to give me a spare tire or at least the room under the trunk liner for a spare tire. I vote with my dollars.

Not getting another here. I just traded it in for a loss just to get rid of the thing.

No, these cares aren't dependable, have had my fair share of issues and have thoughts of just getting rid of this thing.

Would I? M5 or LCI 535. I would NEVER buy a 1st year German car again though (although it seems the F10's seem OK for a 1st launch - no disabled/weak TCU's, Tranny Slam Issues, Seat Mat Sensor problems, Blown MPM modules, Transmission Seal Failures, Dynamic Drive faults, ARS faults, etc - all the fun I've experienced with my car pre-50K miles. Post 50k but pre 120k I had catalytic converter issues (2k/cat), more tranny issues, water pump failure, thermostat failure. Post 150k, I'm having restraint and airbag warnings, and a random temperature warning that appears and disappears. Hoses were replaced, and the car shows normal temps when queried through OBD PID maps).
