Probably winter rims but still there's no reason to stoop to steel rims and hub caps.

Each and other E60 has winter setups like that here in Sweden. It's probably a company car, and they don't want to pay 2500? for a 17-inch OEM setup.

good god. that's aweful...i think i'd have to say its about time to kick in a little of my own for wheels if my COMPANY paid for my CAR!

Do you know that steel rims are forbidden on the E60 (not homologated) ?

Forbidden, and ... very ugly in this case, but cheap of course. I guess it would be less ugly without the plastic covers, if the rims are black.
