i have used good years and they were more than enough for our winters here in austria. i have tried out winter dunlops too and will be getting those on my 19" shortly. i have put my 18" goodyears with the 135m alloys in the classified if you are interested..

I am very happy with my winter set up - see signiture below. I also love having two differnt looks for the the car...every six months it changes.

Well, thanks for all of the excelent feedback!

I think I'm going to use my stock wheels (staggered 124's) and fit them with Dunlop M3 Sport snow tires; 225/45/18 front and 245/40/18's rear. This setup will fit the widths of the staggered 124's. And since they're pactically new, I will use the current stock runflat tires next summer on the same wheels. Then, these will become my winter wheels and I will get 19" summer wheels w/ non-runflats for the following summer. Sounds like a plan!

Check your manual. BMW calls for 245/40/18's, not 225/45/18. I suggest you run the 245/40/18 snows all around.
