I just had my Blizzak winter tires fitted after a few days of seeing the BMW snowflake. Thanks to STS on Hillside Ave. (thanks Vish!), I was in and out in 30 min. Record time actually.

I go from 19" to 17" for winter tires and, while the car does handle a bit differently (perhaps an understatement), I have absolute confidence in its ability in snow and cold weather.

FYI, here is an article on Winter Driving Tips for those interested.

I just leave my all-seasons on my XI. So far, so good.

Put mine on last weekend. I have to drive to a facility in West Virginia later this week. This takes me through the mountains and there is usually snow - when I made the trip last year I had my wife's SUV with 4 wheel drive. I'll be interested to see how the 550 handles with the Blizzaks.

I always wait until the very last minute and change them once it actually snows. I think I'm only a few days away from taking the plunge...

As soon as I start hearing the commercials from BMW on the radio (German radio, that is) I start to feel guilty about not putting them on and I am leaving soon to pick up my car at the Welt so I didn't want to come up and not be able to drive home from the Airport at year end.

I'm about to do the X. I'm debating the M, as I probably won't take it out this winter when there is snow on the ground, even though I have Blizzaks on the stock wheels. I much prefer the look of the 20's and when it's dry out, I'll roll it on out here and there.

Mine are staying on til mid January. Heading down to Florida at the end of Dec. Even after I take my summer wheels and tires off, I'm putting on another set of wheels. 19" summer wheels and tires. No winter tires for me this year. Maybe next winter.

Currently dropped my fuel economy 2 mpg... but its like a snowmobile! I'll be pushin through snow a foot deep in alleys and never get stuck!
