These are not strictly a snow tire though... I think its a good performance tire with the added benefit of snow and wet condition handling.

found a different tire as copied in the above post...but this is good, and i see that they are A/S tread. i like the pattern though and have seen these on other vehicles. thanks for the link and the pricing is a little more bearable. unfortunately though, they are on back-order and seems to have been problematical with contis in the past.

I run the Pirellis, like them on dry much better than all-season michelins I switched from, have not had a chance yet to test them on snow. The only problem I have with tirerack.com is that they did not send the warranty card with the Pirellis and do not respond to my e-mails. I think these days you can get a better or same deal via local shops like discount tire, plus you get cheap installation, free tire balance and $20 hazard insurance from them.
