After years of experience and returned wheels (even BMW specific models) you cannot trust anyone but Tire Rack to know which wheels will clear those sport calipers.
I can?t say which but I can comment that the tire mfrs. themselves consult with Tire Rack on these sorts of questions from time to time.

Ouch - I'd get the BMW logos for these wheels. Tirerack puts them on when you buy them for $6 each. You can probably do it after the fact.

Ray Hull,
No, Gary from TireRack says he can't give away wheel caps for free anymore.

I use 17" ASA wheels on my 545 sport and Semperit Speed Grip (speed rated snows that are inexpensive) and they are great; now on their third season. I don't ski anymore, but they get me up the hills from the Hudson riverfront every morning. Good luck,

Avoid fussy wheel styles; salt and grit are hard to remove and they deteriorate first in those nooks and crannies.

Actually Tirerack was the place that said 16" wheels would NOT fit on my 2000 540ia sport (even though it had the same brakes as the non-sport car that they said COULD handle the 16" wheels). Picked up a set of OEM 16" wheels had the dealer put them on and.... they fit perfectly. To be honest, I'm not sure WHO you can trust these days.

Got the same wheels (225's 17" ASA J3H) with Dunlop Winter Sport 3D, about $1200 with TPS. Was in Albany last Thursday during the snowstorm. Fishtailed a little in the thick slush upwards on I-787 during PM rushhour but I got where I needed to go.
