Now when you Iceman write this, one can only think that you are within the BMW family
or stockholder with Hella?
Mist or any wet conditions can in no case be good for the electronics nor anything.
How can one explain mist in front of a light as a normal thing?
I'm not buing this anymore!
Car manufactures and especially BMW, are really good (bad) in not to admitting any problems,
as they are really expensive to fix. Even if the parts are usually made by subcontractors.
Most of us do not know about the legal proceedings going on involving BMW and other German
manufactures.
Compare to Sony, a million or + sold batteries did the stock go down a milloin...

OK, OK, OK. I admit, I am a spy for BMW.
Does it change anything?
NO.
Go to your dealer and fucking look in the fucking PuMA yourself! God damn it!
You will find a PuMA case with attached pictures that are much worse!
The housing needs to be open because of the heat. And it IS totally normal that there is moisture in there!
PERIOD

To Iceman:
Sorry, but don't take it so seriously!
I got today a really nice and explaining answer from my dealer,
they seemed to improve a lot!
In normal cases the misting can occure do the temperature changes,
but they also gave a lot of reasons why it can occure do to failiors.
Cracks in the unit, bad gaskets can be the reason and the light assembys
ventilation has also to be in order.
They also gave my a few dates when they would inspect the problem as
a warranty matter.
This is what I call customer service.

There might be reasons when it is a failure.
But I am telling you taht NO headlight on any E60 should be mist-free.
The mist can be all over the headlight and it can stay for more than 12 hours easily, and this is NORMAL!
Check the PuMA for Gods sake.

... Fact is that a 50.000 EUR+ car should not have misty headlamps...
Period.
