I believe that is true in a Steptronic - every time I flip the stick to the left when the car is at a standstill, the indicator screen shows 2nd gear.

if itis in D itis in 2nd and if itis in sport then you can use 1st gear.

Boy oh boy!
Anyone else drive a manual anymore!!! I put Dunlop (I know I know, a bad word) winter sport tires (245 front and rear) on mine and absolutely ZERO issue in some pretty narsty winter driving conditions (Rudy can back me up) here in western PA. I have been passing all sorts of vehicles having troubles. I can't believe how good these tires are in the crud. Hard pack, slush, fresh powder...you name it. Little bit'a left foot right foot heel toe heel toe and away we go!!!
