Hi folks,
I have a strange problem with my wing mirrors:

1) When reversing the passenger side dips towards the kerb, then back again when changing from R to D. However it doesn't always return to the memorised setting and by pressing "1" on the driver's seat I can see the mirror "flick" back to it's stored place.

2) Driver's mirror randomly moves from normal position to point up at the sky or down at the ground - and this is very random. Sometimes it does it when unlocking the car (I can see the mirror move up/down), but sometimes it does it whilst driving i.e. i'll glance at the mirror and it's normal, a few minutes later i'll glance again and all i can see is sky or ground.

The passenger side wing mirror motor and wiring has been replaced twice now to no avail. Also the car is running the latest software. The car is booked in with the dealer again next week but we are both at a loss as to what it could be?

No idea, I'm afraid mine will do that too. My old E46 did that and it was annoying. I just turned off the function.

not sure about problem 2,

but with problem 1:

if you don't want the mirror tilt when you go from D to R, change the controller on your armrest of the side mirrors (not sure it needs to be on the driver or passenger position, but one of those positions will stop the auto tilt)

now, to get the mirror back to it's position consistently everytime, without having to hit the memory seat 1 position, via iDrive disable the "last seat position"

as that problem was discussed here: https://5series.net/forums/index.php?showto...0position\

About your problem number 1, my car did the same thing and BMW replaced it under warranty. Since then, everything is fine.

Not sure about problem 2 except to let the dealer know about it when you tell them about number 1!
