My service advisor at New Century BMW indicated that their technicians cannot replicate the problem because they are not authorized to drive over 65mph. He recommended I call BMW Customer Service. Anyone know if this is best -or if there is someone who can help me re-seal my noisy windshield? Thanks!

I was fortunate to have fixed this problem outside the US. But it is a simple problem. The molding surrounding the winshield needs to be removed. The windscreen removed and refitted. Pay a body shop to do the job. Nothing needs to be proven if you are willing to pay for a task. For $200 the problem will go away.

I cannot see it happening any other way.

Thanks again Hormazd. I will go to my usual body shop...but first I'll give customer service a call. If I have to I'll schedule a run at a racetrack! I'll let you know. (I have a barely visible stone chip...and am waiting for a larger crack before I have the windshield replaced...I'm gonna guess that's gonna be over $1,000 !!! If anyone else, (preferably in the U.S.), has resolved this, please let us know! Thanks.

MEX, thanks for the thread...I've checked it out before. Out of curiosity what is the PUMA system?

I have the same problem and got the same answer from my dealer. They have to see it on their own, but........ when and where to drive that fast..... and also it happens to me every once in a while, not all the time.
