Default Windshield Washer Delay

Hi everybody.

This is for an E60 LCI 530D.

Does anybody know if you can modify the wiper delay when using the windshield washer.

It may not seem like much but I would like another 0.5 seconds of washer before the wipers start moving.

Although there is no blockage it seems a little short on water before the arms start moving - and I am worried that this may contribute to scratching.

Cheers.

happened to me - eventually it completely stopped - replaced the strainer on the end of the pump and all was fixed. And this was by using proper windscreen washer, never mixing two brands (it can congeal if someone uses two separate brands).

The part was like £2, is updated too, where the black rubber can't fall off.

The way these cars are made I wouldn't be surprised if there was a way to adjust how long the washers run before the arms move. Probably a firmware setting in the control module though.

if you quickly flick the switch, you can get water to spray without the wipers moving, but I find there is enough water on the screen since I've replaced the strainer...

I'll probably take a look at the strainer just to see what condition it is in - if that is possible.

There are a ton of really fine scratches following the wiper blade pattern.

The firmware/programming is the place I thought it might be as well but I searched and couldn't see any references to other people making the adjustment.

You'll probably need to do nettodat coding, I wonder what it'll be in though. I have seen references for the wipers to force return to their home position if the engine is switched off and key taken out. Can't remeber what in though, maybe CAS. In fact, I definitely have read of someone disabling the automatic headlight wash which happens if you wash the screen with the headlights on.

Let us know how you get on!
