Replaced under warranty - it should not wear out that quickly. The service manager was very familar with it.

I know on a 2004 it does not have to be removed. I watched the glass guy pull it out the old trim and insert the new trim. All with the glass undisturbed.

I did it for front and rear on 530 2004 without any problem!
it took 30 min,
just pull the old molding and line up and push the new one in
there is enough space for the mold to set perfectly
it will be easier if you lubricate it.

the above installation was done on factory installed glass, if your glass was replaced, it will be difficult to be done! be careful..

Did you use OEM molding or aftermarket without the metal?
