windshield replacement. Splintex vs Pilkington?
Have a couple nice cracks in my windshield from a truck picking up some rocks and flinging them at me. My insurance progressive will cover up to a certain amount to replace the glass but will still leave me with a decent chunk to pay for if I go to the dealership so I'm looking at alternate options.
Right now the glass on my windshield it says Pilkington with no BMW logo one of the companies I can get my glass through is made by Splintex. How do either Pilkington or Splintex compare to the OEM glass or are either one of them the maker of the OEM glass? My main worries are I have the rain sensor that I would like to continue to work as well as want to keep the solar coating with of course being a quality piece of glass.
Any advice on OEM vs Pilkington vs Splintex?

Either glass should work fine as long as you get the correct one with the rain sensor. When they installed mine it was already mounted and then the tech made some connections.
