Thanks for all the replies! The BMW dealers in Neb.(there are 3) all source out this work to Autoglass Centers. The windshield is a BMW splintex windshield as indicated in the lower left corner with a BMW emblem. I visited with the center and they apparently reused the adhesive to reattach the rearveiw mirror and the tech. felt this might be the problem. I have another emissions warning and need to take the car back in for diagnostics and my BMW dealer will look at it for me. The Autoglass center was to call me when they get the adhesive but I have not heard back as of yet. I have had the car serviced for the initial emissions problem that has been seen in 2004 8 cylinder vehicles, but the warning has went on again.
