My 645Cic had this problem. I turned out to be a loose sway-bar. It sounded like the glass was rubbing against metal over off-camber bumps. Creak Creak Creak. Tightened it up, and Voila, no more creak.... I don't know if the 550 has a swaybar as well to check...
