Default Windshield Cracked

Have not brought it in yet, but looks like my windshield is due for replacement. This is for a 2008 535 XIT with out HUD.

any recommendations on replacement brand of glass and companies to stay away from? I'm in the SF Bay area.

I will likely have to pay the entire cost myself.

The last time I had it replaced on another car, the method of removal damaged the paint underneath and eventually ended up causing rust to form along the entire bulkhead...

Do I have to suck it up and go back to the dealer to maintain the corrosion coverage from BMW?

Thanks.

Safelite did mine the other year and they did a very good job, no damage or scratches. But of course I was right there with him in my garage while he was working. I ended up ordering the heat reflective glass. It has a purple hue to it. Non HUD. Radar detectors or toll trackers do no work well through this glass due to the metal product inside. I can confirm that my car especially the dash area stays much cooler. Almost as if you had a sun shade in place.
