I just tried this and it works. Can't get titles to display, not sure how, but the CD player recognises the disc and play's the MP3's no problem.

Tried using Nero version 5 to do the same thing and the CD player would not recognise the disc.

I used the default settings in Windows Media Player version 10.

CIP is 19.01.

You are correct BigGrey, WMP did not default to MP3. I have changed the setting to Mp3 and 196 and doing a ripping again to see if it still works.

I am not saying that you erred, but I made a mistake along these lines once. I created CD audio files on disk, and, of course, they played--since they had the same format as on the original. Check the size of your files; if MP3's, then you should be able to get 50, or 100, or so on a CD.

I sure hope we figure out a way to get it to work. I have tried multiple different formats using roxio, and Nero. My auto was recently updated to 19.02 but I think because of its 1/04 birth date, I'm locked outta MP3... but hopefully not.... I guess I'll keep making coasters until I find out or quit trying!

OK, here' the latest. I made sure that WMP ripped in MP3 format which it did. If yoo then try and use WMP to burn, it converts the MP3'd back to regualr audio files which is why it appeared to work and why I could only fit 15 or so tracks onto the CD.

I then tried using Nero to create a data CD and burned 6 CD's worth of MP3's onto a single CD. This would not work in the car, error message was unrecognised media (or something like that).

So, it's back to the drawing board.

Either there is a specific burn format I need to follow, or my car's CD player will not recognise MP3's at this stage.

That was a nice waste of a few hours!!

No format will work in my experience. I even tried putting CD audio files on a DVD so I could have many files on one disk with the idea of playing them through the nav slot--no dice. You can't put CD a's on a DVD--as I discovered. I asked das if one could do so, and he said no.
