Yesterday I opened all the windows and sunroof via the car's key fob as I was approaching the car. I placed the key back in my pocket and when I touched the door to get in the car, the car locked, armed the alarm and all the windows closed. I'm not sure exactly what I was touching when that happened, but I have not been able to replicate it since. I know the US spec cars are not supposed to be able to close all the windows from outside, but was wondering has any other US spec car owner had this issue?

do you have comfort access? pushing the handle in to lock the doors may also do that, equivalent to holding the key all the way to the right in the door lock used to. if you recently waxed your car, some residue might have prevented the handle from popping back out, else that switch in the handle is acting up.

Not on my 2008 car with CA is doesn't. I read this earlier then ran out for lunch and tried the auto down/up thing. As advertised, holding the unlock button down will unlock the car while opening the windows and sunroof. I then tried touching the door handle for auto close, nothing. I then tried touching the sensor for locking to see if that would work, nothing. Finally, knowing the answer, I held down the lock button on the key fob, again nothing. Am I missing something here?

you should be able to push in on the door handle (not just touch) and it will lock the doors. keep holding it in and it should close everything.

Ah ha! Never even knew the handle could be pushed in! And the earlier post described touching the handle, not pushing...

On my car (similar to kscarrol's), I can touch and hold the area that causes the car to lock and everything will close. I don't have to push anything in as Felix describes...

I don't have it on the 5er but we have Comfort Access on our 7 and it requires a push. not a huge one, mind you, but enough that you see the door handle move in towards the car about 1/8". it's more than just a touch, but I think we're splitting hairs here since there's no hard and fast definition of the amount of force in a touch vs. a push.

I'll try again when I leave work but I tried to touch and hold the locking sensor on both the driver's door and the rear driver's side door. No joy on either, but then per an earlier thread, I have been having issues getting consistent locking with the CA...
