I called my local BMW dealer to inquire about window tinting and they told me it voids the warranty on the window regulators. Has anyone else heard this?

Thank you

I did run into a window tint problem when my car was bouth back. I was told BMW doesn't pay for the window tinting since it is illegal. I think this is a bluff if you ask me.

Sounds like a dealer bluff. Call BMWNA. Many, many BMWs have window tint. Only recently could BMW claim it is a problem. That tells me that it is BMW's problem.

It actually makes some sense, the added friction of the thicker (or more grabby) window going up and down could easily stress the window motors leading to premature failure. In general, any modification that leads to premature failure should void the warranty for that part.

No. The motor can handle the security windows, they are double as thick and therefore double as heavy, without failure.
