Today I got the window anti-trap warning. I've searched the forum and found a couple suggestions on reinitializing - none of them agree, and for those that I've tried none of them have worked. Does anyone have the official procedure for a rear window. Currently, my window will go up and down in 3 inch increments for each up or down movement of the switch.

I had the exact problem, the rear right passenger window triggered the Anti-trap warning. I did the reinitializing, and seems the problem is gone for good now.

all you have to do to readjust the window, is to pull it up all the way...once its there (all the way up), pull the window up again make sure its past the preasure point of the auto and keep your finger thier for about 5 seconds...the window should be back to normall....

In my case only way to reset rear side windows was to connect the car to the "analyzer" and do it through that.

Usually, when battery is disconnected, this message will go up.
Try auto mode for all windows to see which one does not function in auto mode (automatically going up/down). Once you find it, hold the switch until it goes up all the way down. Release the switch and switch and hold it again. Message will go away.

I got the same message (along with others (i.e. active steering, dsc), and the root of the problem was an undercharged battery.

I had to keep resetting mine on a weekly basis. On my last visit to the dealership, I asked them to fix it. The tech had to disassemble the window tracks and re-align and re-lubricate them. I haven't had a problem since then, which was about two months ago.

OK, I've tried what people have recommended and no luck. I guess I'll have to go to the dealership now...

I'm in Bay Area, Sunnyvale during working hours. I can see you during lunch time and do it for you. No charge at all. Just a help to our forum members.

I had the anti trap message once when I first got the car. I can't exactly remember what I did, but I THINK that I just went through the idrive to the 'check control' screen and 'accepted' the message.

I certainly DIDN'T need to visit my dealer.
