Will a software update improve driving experience? I'm not sure what the software update will encompass. I'm finding it hard to understand the acronyms in some of the threads. Is there such thing as an overall upgrade for the iDrive and onboard computer?!

I'm sorry if this has been posted before.

I got my car back yesterday after a complete update to SW version 31 and there are no differences for me.

For the 535i it might be a good idea.

There has been some issues about NA 535i twin-turbo engines.

oh really? Sounds pretty serious. What's wrong with them? I wonder if the gear shifting was the problem?! It does have some rough shifts in the lower gears. And during startup, the car has a lil tremble

newest SW (software) version 33.0+ will address this. From what has been posted the performance "feel" is much improved....

What about European 2008 530i (manufactured 10/07) ? Never upgraded it since purchased. Should I expect 'tangible' improvements?
Little suspicious about the car's acceleration.

the turbo lag only applies to BMW's with the N54/Turbo engine, so this would not apply to you...

but I would try the 25 second transmission reset trick....run a search on it, plenty of thread about it and how to do it
