I have many small paint chips on both the front bumper and on the very front edge of the hood. I am soooo mindful of not tailgating people and not driving behind large semi trucks, pickups, dump trucks, etc., yet I still have these paint chips. It?s really bugging me. Does anyone know if the Comprehensive portion of your auto insurance would cover this, i.e, I would just have to pay my $250.00 deductible?

I think you get your whole bumper re-painted for about $300.. depends though...

I wouldn't think so. Those annoying rock chips are likely viewed as wear and tear, though I've never tried to make a claim for them. Read your policy or talk to your agent, but I doubt it.

Experience has shown that even if the insurance company entertains a comprehensive claim they will probably jack up your premium down the road.
Also between other people bumping your bumber while they are parking and all sorts of flying particles and debris, chances are you will probably have other small chips before the paint even dries on current repairs. If you decide to go ahead , you may want to consider a clear bras.

I had to change the complete hood on my G35 after a bicycle hanging over my car in the garage fell on it (yeah , I know not the brightest of move on my part) anyways one day after I got the car back I had a nice ding on the hood from a flying rock, and a clear bras would not have helped as it was in the centre of the hood.
