Will crank, But will not start

My Ride: 2009 BMW 528i Xdrive

I have a 2009 BMW 528i Xdrive and I had been driving around with my check engine light on for about 1k miles I knew it was for my fuel pump, I had gotten it checked before, a week or two ago I was driving my car and it was fine I drove it for about 2-3 hours then I let it sit for 45min idling drove it for another hour then after letting it sit for 15 min while I was doing something it turned off, when I went back to it to drive again I noticed it was off and I had about a quarter tank of gas left, I could turn it on but it was like I wasn’t getting gas when I pressed the pedal, now it won’t start but it will crank forever, I replaced the fuel pump and filter sending units and now it still won’t start any suggestions on to what’s wrong and how to fix this? Please and thank you!

I would suggest pulling some spark plugs to see if there is fuel on them or in the cylinder, to be sure you're getting fuel. I'm not sure how much work that is on an N52 but on the M54 or the N54 it's not too bad.

I took the spark plugs before and they were flooded with gas so I let them dry out and then I put them back in and still nothing.

An engine needs air, fuel, compression, and ignition so I would say the next step would be to check for spark. I wouldn't expect the whole ignition system to go out unless something weird happened like a blown fuse or something. It's good to know your plugs were wet. I personally would pull the fuse for the fuel pump, remove the spark plugs, and crank the engine for a bit to dry it out. Then put the fuse and plugs back in and crank to ensure the plugs are wet again to ensure there is still fuel spraying. I'm not sure of the best way to check for spark while being safe at the same time. With lawn mowers I just pull the plug out and let it sit next to the head and watch for a spark but we're dealing with a lot more power here to the plugs than a mower. Hopefully others can comment on that.
You mentioned that at one point you could have it run but it was like the pedal was doing nothing. Does that mean it was just idling and the throttle was non-responsive?
