So my car hit 6600 miles today-all within like 3 months-lots of time off and lots of driving hard. Lots of high revs and low gears etc. It is a lease so not as concerned which is why. But my oil change interval started at 11k when I drove the car home. Every couple weeks seemed to drop 1k or so and today dropped to telling me change it at 7k! Now I know lots of people change it anyway and pay for it earlier than BMW recomends but for free I would like to got take it in and get it changed but I have an intake and exhaust which I am not in the least concerned but also have a EVOTECH software flash on there.

Will BWM "wonder" why I am getting only 7k per oil change when they initially told me the 530s go about every 12-15k. Will they be researching my driving style via the computer-my understanding is that they can access your driving habits and the obvious from having a 7k interval. Will they snoop and be able to locate this software change? Worth the 100 bucks to change it independently if that is so since car is perfect otherwise and next service items is brakes but not till 16k. Thanks

The oil changes are cheap compared to the value of the engine. I would discuss this with your dealer's BMW Service Manager.

On my 550i, I had the same thing happen to me. When I hit 6,100 miles, I got the work 'Service' every time I started the car. I called the dealer and they suggested that I open the gas cap and close it tightly...didn't work. My SA thought it was weird that I needed an oil change/service at such low mileage. I'm taking the car in on the 17th so I'll let you know what they find. I also drive pretty hard and I don't care if BMW is "wondering". Keep driving it hard!

As said in your other post, if the service indicator shows 7k, that's how long you have left to your oil service.
