Default Will any OW-40 oil do?

I realize that this may have been discussed in detail before but I would like your thoughts

I read that my 2004 E60 should use OW-40 engine oil (about 7 litres)

Does that mean any OW-40 will do or should I stick to a certain brand?

Thanks for your replies

I would personally look on the back label and check to see if its BMW long life approved.
