wierd noise on back right handside.

last few weeks i have had a wierd whine from the back right wheel area. i thought it would be a wheel bearing but it olny happens when in gear and not excelerating. eg down hill in gear lettng engine run. and its getting fairly loud. my car has done about 50k and is a 2006 model of the 525. e60.
do you think its a wheel bearing or something else.
when i put the clutch down or out of gear the noise disapears nearly fully. very low volume when out of gear.

its deffinatly coming from the diff and sounds quiet loud at speed.
only when in gear and slowing down
not in neutral
not in when speedng up
any idea???? offers please???
i cant take my car back cos its out of warranty. so seeing bmw is out of window
