Why not? They're pretty much free. If you buy at any Autostore they ususally give you 5 yr replacement if defective and they just swap them out.....so why not? If you have an M54 engine it takes about 30 min to an hour and I don't expect that it would take much longer on the other engines.......

There's a photo of the tools you need. You only need to remove the two 10mm bolts on the valve cover 1 and slide it out. You do not need to disassemble the entire car like I see people doing... lol I think they do it for the fun of it just like wearing rubber gloves.

On the V8s it's a bit more of a hassle. I'd still say change them out at 60k though. My mileage went up about 10% and the car feels much improved.

Pretty bad argument. Chances of 2-4 plugs shitting the bed completely at the same time are slim.
BMW recommends replacement at 100k. Just saying.
FYI did mines at about 60k per BMW CCA Roundel recommendations.

Still seems like pretty cheap insurance, Kragen has the NGK iridium plugs for $6.99/ea so for $42 I can keep my engine running smooth. Sounds like a sound investment on a $60k car.
